Brendan and his bride Christine were married in the small US farming town of Caledonia, Minnesota (population 2967) on Friday (Saturday, Australian time). Brendan described the wedding ceremony and day as glorious. My bride looked extremely beautiful, he said. Brendan and Christine opted for an outdoors ceremony, and an ‘open house’-style reception, which was attended by an Australian an uncle and aunt who were in the USA. The couple will honeymoon for a week, then return to Australia to settle in Melbourne. Brendan will resume his full calendar of entertainment functions before the end of August! Brendan and Christine have conducted much of their courtship by e-mail, although Christine has visited Australia with a holiday trip to Queensland’s Gold Coast.

The township is in the La Crosse area of south-eastern Minnesota, near the state border of Wisconsin, and close to Canada. Caledonia was named after the ancient Roman word for Scotland. Christine, a retail manager, is leaving her family and home town, to make a married life with Brendan in Australia.
